Trend Micro is a computer company that develops software and services to protect against computer viruses, malware, spam, and Web-based threats. Recently it has announced the availability of Trend Smart Surfing application on the Apple App Store. Trend Smart Surfing is a free browser application for iPhone and iPod touch that offers another layer of protection against Web threats by blocking access to Web sites that may contain malicious content designed to steal personal information.
European researches developed a new system called MOBVIS which will allow camera phone users to hyperlink with the real world. The system will identify the name of objects like building, car, monuments, logo, banner etc captured in a photo.
Now this system is available for only European visitors. The images could also be annotated with additional information like history, event information, or information about nearby shops.
In MOBVIS, pictures of objects are manually stored by the European developers along with additional information. After users take a picture, it compares the currently captured photo with photos in the database and returns the relevant link for the picture.
